Va Va Voom on the silver screen

Clive Owen

Thierry Henry

ARSENAL legend Thierry Henry could hit the silver screen in a movie by Hollywood director Spike Lee.
Heartthrob actor and long-time Islington resident Clive Owen revealed the news about Arsenal’s goal ace Wednesday night at the Islington premiere of his new film, Sin City.
Veteran director Lee offered Henry a walk on part in ‘The Inside Man’, which also stars Owen, after striking up a friendship with the Frenchman. He is often seen in the striker’s luxury Highbury stadium box.
Dashing Owen made the revelations during a question and answer session at a special screening of the £45 million action flick Sin City at the Screen on the Green, in Upper Street.
He will star in the Inside Man alongside Henry and also Denzel Washington and Jodie Foster.
The actor told the packed audience that Lee thought the Arsenal superstar was perfect for the job. Dishy Owen, who shot to fame in Croupier and Closer, said he would never swap Islington for the bright lights of Hollywood.
He said: “It means a lot of travelling but I would never move to Los Angeles. I love it here in Islington. It’s where I grew up and all my family are here.”
Mr Owen said filming Sin City was a strange experience. He said: “It was the first time I’d worked with the ‘green screen’ before. At one point we were sitting on two cardboard boxes with a steering wheel – you feel quite exposed.”
