MUSIC
Demo of the week – Admass

ADMASS is the ongoing project of Welsh wiseguy Daniel Owens, a wishy-washy chap who wears velvet jackets and would love to have spent a day picking daisies with John Lennon.
Tell him you think fellow-Beatle Paul McCartney was the better man and he will flip into a violent rage – it’s become my favourite sport.
His head-in-the-clouds flower-picking music matches his dithering personality.
Listen to first track Menu-Exit, scarily haunting, and you will see what I mean. You might not get any further.
But persevere and the Admass collection really is not that bad.
Less is more on second effort Inertia with lots of good guitar and fewer vocals.
Owens’ vocals are stronger on Ante Bellum – it sounds like a chilled out version of Lennon’s How Do You Sleep?
The Admass tunes continue in the same vein, sometimes losing its way but always curious enough to maintain interest.
Judge for yourself on www.admass.net where Owens appears in typical coffee shop pose and holds court about the world’s rights and wrongs.
On the site, to prove the point and his obsession, he tells an Admass collaborator: “I’m the Lennon of our partnership and always have been – if you want to dispute this, get yer own website.”
Owens promises more tunes this summer and he will always be one to look out for – providing he gets over the Lennon fix.
