Murder arrest after three years

A MURDER suspect has been arrested nearly three years after a builder was stabbed to death in Camden High Street.
Detectives investigating the killing of father-of-two Thomas Breen swooped at a house in Camden Town on Thursday night.
They arrested a 40-year-old man in connection with the knifing.
The suspect was quizzed by police for several hours before being released on bail.
He was told that he must appear before officers at a police station in August.
Detectives refused to comment further on the arrest or release further details of their investigation but the action is the first breakthrough since they renewed their appeal for help in cracking the case earlier this month.
Mr Breen, 50, (pictured below), who was in London on a scaffolding contract, was out drinking with a friend when he was killed by a single stab wound near the Elephant’s Head pub in August 2002.
His killer has remained at large ever since.
Two weeks ago, Detective Inspector Paul Armstrong announced that reward cash had been doubled to £20,000, as police circulated a suspect photo-fit.
The murder is the only unsolved killing from the so-called ‘Murder Mile’ summer spell of 2002 which saw six men murdered in just 12 weeks.
