BROTHERS
A dark Danish drama, concerns two brothers, one of whom goes off
to Afghanistan to be a peace worker as the other is released from
prison.
Almost biblical in theme, this powerful film examines guilt, duty
and the meaning of love from a filial point of view.
PALINDROMES
This is a confusing tale which challenges our perceptions of actors
in roles (a succession of actors play the same characters throughout)
as it follows the plight of a 13-year-old girl Aviva who wants
a child of her own. This darkest of comedies is made lighter with
a supporting appearance by Ellen Barkin.
HEIMAT 3
The sequel to Heimat 2 looks at Germany between the late 80s to
the turn of the new century through the reuniting of a couple
by chance, aided by the fall of the Berlin Wall.
A touching and memorable chronicle of Germany during its recent
time of personal and political upheaval.
