‘Brutal’ rapist is jailed for 15 years

A SERIAL rapist who targeted three women in Camden Town has been jailed for 15 years.
Mexican father-of-one Victor Carrera attacked women aged 18, 20 and 34 as they walked home alone last year.
Sentencing him to 15 years at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Thursday Judge Wilkinson described the attacks as “brutal”.
He commended detective constables Cliff Blackshaw and Jason Montanana for what he described as “a first rate example of an investigation”.
Carrera’s first victim had called 999 as he attacked her near Camden Road station in April last year.
Her desperate cries were recorded on police tape and played to the shocked jury.
Other attacks came in Greenland Road in May and in Regent’s Park in June.
Police tracked Carrera after trawling CCTV tapes from Camden Town and creating an e-fit.
He was traced to a branch of Sainsbury’s near Finsbury Park where he worked after a police colleague recognised him.
