Pub bid for 1am drinks

A NEIGHBOURHOOD pub in a close-knit Kentish Town street is seeking Town Hall permission to stay open until 1am and stage live music.
Bosses at the Torriano in Torriano Avenue have become the latest licensees to make an application under new licensing rules which came into effect two months ago.
If the application is approved, the pub will stay open until midnight on week nights and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Any objectors have until May 10 to put their case.
Only 10 of Camden’s 1,700 pubs, bars and clubs have applied to convert or vary their licence under the new system – a process they must complete by the end of the summer whether they want to stay open later or not.
