Plea to murder victim’s pals

Victim Bozidar Misic

DETECTIVES are desperate to speak to two friends of a man murdered in a Swiss Cottage street attack.
As the murder inquiry entered its third week, police admitted they have not traced the two men who were drinking with Bozidar Misic on the night he was assaulted in Finchley Road.
The 28-year-old died at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead three days after being knocked over by a red Vauxhall Corsa in the early hours of February 6.
In the latest appeal for help, Detective Chief Inspector Steve Morris insisted the murder investigation had not ground to a halt.
He said: “We are appealing to the two friends who were with Bozidar. We have not spoken to them and we do not know who they are – only that they live locally. It is vitally important they speak to us.”
Officers confirmed three suspects – two men and a woman – arrested in connection with Mr Misic’s death have now been released on bail without being charged.
All three will return to police stations later this month to see whether further action will be taken.
Mr Misic was hit by the car at the junction of Finchley Road and Fairfax Road after being shoved into a bus lane.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned at St Pancras Coroner’s Court.
The dead man, who lived in Ealing, west London, had been partying with two friends in the popular Walkabout pub in Finchley Road earlier in the evening when he became involved in a dispute inside the bar.
Police are convinced the dispute was linked to a later row in the street, which involved up to 10 men and women.
Mr Misic was later attacked and pushed into the road, where he was hit by the car.
Detectives said this week that the driver was not connected with the earlier fracas.
Officers believe passing drivers could provide crucial leads. DCI Morris added: “We would like to hear from drivers in Finchley Road between midnight and 1am.”
