Serial rapist faces prison

A RAPIST who attacked three women in Camden Town faces jail.
Victor Carrera, 26, was found guilty of attempted rape, sexual assault and rape at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday after the court heard how he preyed on lone women under cover of darkness.
He attacked his first victim in the early hours of April 18 last year, grabbing the 18-year-old Camden Town woman around the neck and dragging her into a garage forecourt where he attempted to rape her. He bound her wrists with plastic bags and stuffed pieces of the bag into her mouth to muffle her screams.
Four weeks later, he pounced on a woman, 34, walking alone along Greenland Road, jamming his fingers into her mouth to force her to the ground where he sexually assaulted her. Carrera fled at the sound of nearby police sirens.
Carrera next attacked on June 5, his victim a 20-year-old woman who had spent the night at the Underworld Club in Camden Road. She was walking through Regent’s Park at 3.30am when he raped her. After the attack, the bruised and bleeding victim flagged down a police car.
Police lifted an image of Carrera off CCTV footage, and went door to door around Camden Town shops and bars. He was eventually recognised and identified, and police arrested Carrera at his Haringey home on June 18. DNA evidence linked him to all three attacks.
Carrera will be sentenced at Snaresbrook in April.
