Robber jailed for series of raids

A ROBBER behind a series of violent hold-ups has been jailed for eight years.
Ashley Trice, 50, admitted seven robberies and asked for 11 others to be taken into account at Snaresbrook Crown Court last Monday.
His targets included an opticians in Parkway, Camden Town, a gift shop in Marchmont Street, Bloomsbury, and a luggage shop in Tottenham Court Road.
He armed himself with a knife, a broken bottle and a hacksaw blade for the robberies in November and December last year.
On several occasions, he locked terrified shop staff in backrooms and demanded the removal of CCTV tapes.
Trice, from King’s Cross, was eventually arrested after he was recognised in the street by a victim.
